We have shown you Tacloban City in pictures 7 months after Super Typhoon Yolanda (International name: Haiyan) struck the city on November 8, 2013. We’ve also shared images from around the city and nearby towns 9 months after the typhoon. Now, as my fellow Taclobanons commemorate the first Yolanda Anniversary, I want to share these 50 photos which I took around Tacloban on November 8, 2014.
Thank you to everyone who helped us recover and improve after Yolanda. To the volunteers, local and international NGOs, LGU officials, good public servants from the national government, and to everyone who has a good and helping heart, may you always have a strength and power to help the needy ones, now and in the future. To our friends and loved ones who left us during Yolanda, you will always be missed and remembered. You are our inspirations to continue moving on and live the most of our lives.

I am glad that there are improvements made. I was there last March…it was a pitiful sight. Hopefully there will be more cooperation among the leaders and citizens. Thank you God for Your mercy !

K A R M A lang ang inyo

My Grandfather was missing because of that typhoon and my other relatives…
Many Filipinos are suffering because our national government didn’t help us…
But even though they did not help us we stand by our self to live in this world without their support…

I rescued my 86 years old mother who was a resident from Magallanes Street. She was looked after by my cousins who also lives around her.It was already Day 6 when I arrived Magallanes Street from Australia. At the moment, Mama is been cared by my sister in Cebu.Yes until now, I am still grieving to those who died during the typhoon. I am one of the lucky ones that none of my relatives died. I am going to visit Tacloban in the next few weeks with my mother from Cebu. She is still traumatized until now and for her to visit the place again will give a final closure for her grieving maybe and also to know how many of her senior citizens friends still around..Thank you for your photographs.I cant wait to visit my cousins again.
